I am going back this week for a follow up at 7.5 weeks. I was told the 6 week US was to confirm the baby is safely in the uterus and progressing as expected (yolk sac/fetal pole mainly), and a heartbeat is possible but not always visible quite yet. It's pretty common to have an early ultrasound where things don't measure quite right and there may or may not be a heartbeat. That's a clear sac pic and just a little movement should have showed if there was more than one sac. It would be easier at 4/5 weeks than 6/7 to miss.
