After cleaning the metal bits failed, I ended up cutting the metal ends off and using a butt splice with an environmental seal to connect the 2 wires and bypass the pinch detector all together.That is a new version of DFI sensor and it fits all Litter Robot 3 versions. It can be installed the same way as the old sensors.
