I recently experienced belt slippage on my ATV (Polaris Sportsman XP 1000). I was out trail riding with some friends when we decided to go up a small river. The water in the river was only in the ballpark of 15-20 inches deep. I expected my trusty Sportsman would have no problems handling it. Sportsman 450. Polaris is not known for its reliability. Advice with replacing a stator on Sportsman 450. I just purchased a 2016 Polaris Sportsman 450 second hand. The seller informed me that he had taken it to a Polaris dealer and was told the stator was bad. By connecting a battery jump back to the ATV, I was able to briefly start it and drive it for a minute to test before buying.2021 polaris 450 sportsman won’t start.
