Tbi to carb swap
Cut the fuel lines just after the fuel filter and loose the connecting pipes that used to go to the TBI. They get in the way of the distributor. Run the lines to the inner fender and then a line over the engine to the carb. I think I have some pics of what mine looks like on this forum somewhere. Just do a search.#1 · Jul 1, 2015. What is the average mileage comparison with tbi to carb generaly speaking as I posted I get about 12-15 mpg. Grab a carb with an air cleaner/breather assembly. Exhaust manifolds or V6 headers will work. You may need to leave some sensors in the holes to prevent coolant/oil leaks. The 4.3 is a 350 minus 2 cylinders, so a 500cfm carb is more than enough, just match it up to your intake.Here's the easiest path: 1) Install O2 sensor. 2) Do the common TBI fuel pressure mod. 3) Contact tbichips.com, give them the engine specs. 4) Enjoy better MPG and driveability than a carb. 5) Look back later with much happiness that you never put a Holley or (non Q-Jet) Edelbrock on your truck.
