I have a 12v 1953 SC that I'm installing a Precision Electronics ignition in but can't get spark. However, a supplier from VA includes a coil with a built-in resistor. Now, 20 yrs from now, I don't know how you'd identify that coil has the built in resistor. I plan on removing the gawdy decals & I'm not sure it can be remembered as having one built in.

The stock breaker point and coil system is more than adequate for the ignition needs of a Farmall C. Were it mine I'd leave the ignition "as is" and save your money. For a 12 volt conversion, again the stock 6 volt system maintained good condition is entirely adequate for a Farmall C.
