TOME and DCSS are both very solid games. From your description, you may be more interested in TOME. In this case the bias goes in direction of DCSS. Even in DCSS you can make shorter runs or you can just simply (S)ave your game. DCSS starts and quits faster so you can very fast switch to FF XIV if the queue ends. Per the devs, the game is balanced around Normal Roguelike.
