Technically yes. But Vex Strike Force is very random, requires a least of a couple of competent players to finish, and gives random loot. I think lost sectors are still the easiest way of getting a specific drop because you can wait for leg day or head day or arm day etc etc and narrow down, as well as running the lost sector as much as you want and not waiting for a random trigger.
The new exotics from this season aren't dropping from Strike Force. Wouldn't be surprising if the activity's loot pool was not updated for the new season's exotics. It has a chance to give you lost sector exotics. It's not a guarantee. My experience from season 20 was that it's a new exotic every single time.
