2007 Rubicon 500 shift problems. Hello everyone, I have a 2007 Rubicon ES and I was pulling a dead horse of mine onto a trailer. All of a sudden it started sputtering on reverse and won't shift out of 1st gear. I gave it a tune up, put a new battery in it. I'm getting 5 blinks with ESP/D1/D2 flashing.Tim King. 43 posts · Joined 2016. #2 · Jun 16, 2017. If you plow you need to get rid of the reverse level takes to much time and is a huge hassle.. Adjust the cable so that it thinks you are pulling on the lever. There are two adjustment points. You might need to use both of them to get the cable tight enough to not need the lever.

Let it sit and runs fine until warm again then limp mode again. No idiots lights coming on, water pump, temp censer, radiator cap all have been replaced.
