The screw does not go through the stock but uses the reciever and the plastic trigger guard to clamp onto the stock (like a C-clamp). If you happen to apply even the slightest amount of torque to the screw you will bend and eventually break the trigger guard (I did and I've read it's quite common). My ...

Ten round mag, semi-auto, 22LR, blued metal but synthetic stock (not as pretty as the 795). Shot well with a variety of ammo and was more accurate than my 10/22s out of the box.
