I just interviewed Brandon Fugal on what's been going on there since filming of Season 3 ended, and this coming Tuesday, my guest will be former Navajo Ranger John Dover, who not only appeared in Season 3, Ancient Aliens, and other shows, but is an active researcher and lecturer on the topic of Skinwalkers. Skinwalkers have always been here pre-colonization. They existed before white people. Skinwalkers actively hurt us Navajos so I don't see why they would spare someone. Skinwalkers hate Navajos too. Can't say much since we Navajo keep everything we know about Skinwalkers a secret.

I recently had a conversation with a friend over the “skinwalker trend” being overtaken by mostly non natives, a fortiori non Navajo people. He argued that it’s pretty disrespectful, and basically cultural appropriation; furthermore amplified by the fact skinwalkers are something you’re not supposed to talk about, mention, etc.Skinwalkers are the antithesis of the Navajo way of life, the exact opposite of what our traditions teach us.
