If you think you can the scav and the others without dying, sure. If you want a super safe way to farm gear look up on youtube "cache runs" for customs or interchange and they are literally barrels hidden in the ground and bushes with weapons, armor, items, ect. I've found top tier armor that sells for 600k plenty of times. that sounds like just really lucky scav rng considering theres literally no loot on that map.. you can do the same thing on other maps that have easy to get to extracts as scav (reserve) and on reserve you can actually loot yourself or go to high loot chance places (raiders/scav boss spawns) for more chances. 1. a-r-c.
Regular scavs will always leave you alone unless they are within range (or sight) of you shooting another scav/raider/boss this radius is fairly large, so normally expect half the map to shoot you on sight after killing another scav. (They WILL know, they are omniscient) The exception to this, if it was a player scav and he shot at (read HIT ...Reserve is the only one that takes me up to 10 mins.
