From what I understand, the relic weapon at 50 is upgraded from ilvl 80 to 100, when it then becomes classed as a zodiac weapon. It is then upgradeable to ilvl 135. It's not used when starting the new zodiac weapon in the following expansion. I believe you can get replica versions if you can complete a zodiac weapon, allowing for glamour.While no solid date has been announced, the expected first true Relic Weapon quests are expected to drop in patches 6.2 and 6.25. In both Shadowbringers and Stormblood, relic weapon content was added to the game in increments. The first threads of the story were added in the .2 patches and expanded every .X5 patch (so 5.25, 5.35, ……
