Priority waitlist is basically just a normal waitlist. Last year you had to pay something I think. they offer priority waitlist to everybody. it's basically the waitlist option if you're insistent on attending cmu if you get in-- you'll receive a decision sooner and will have to pay the enrollment deposit within 72 hours if you get an acceptance.If you are admitted from the priority waiting list we must receive an $800 enrollment deposit within 72 hours of your admission notification. If we are not able to admit you from the priority waiting list you will stay on our regular waiting list. Candidates on the regular waiting list will be notified of an admission decision by June 1, 2022."The list is still active, but the process moves slowly (as explained on the blog). Transfer waiting list updates will be on the transfer blog. I believe most of them have been offered. I got off about a month ago. According to the blog, most offers are going to OOS College of Art and Science students.

Most people will wait till Ivy Day. There is a very small percentage of people that lie in the above criteria, people who applied to both MIT and CMU and got an acceptance from MIT. The reality is that intersection is way less than 1%, so it doesn't make sense for CMU to release decisions in such a manner.From what I can tell, everyone gets put on the priority waitlist, and CMU puts way too many people on the waitlist for reasons I truly do not understand.
