You would still have oil pressure. If you have a scanner pull up the cam and crank sensor/signal and see if you’re getting a reading. To spin 6+k rpm reliably in those it should e balanced to less than 1 gram. Also told the diesel cranks are way worse than the gasoline motors when it comes to being balanced... I made 2 passes at scheids with a broken crank. Oil pressure was fine, you couldnt hardly here anything, and it ran pretty smooth. FluidDampr is being installed on the new motor before it gets dropped in. After consulting with many folks who work on Duramaxes that seems to be the only common issue with broken cranks is the possibility that the balancer has gone bad. Hopefully will pull it and see what exactly went when I get the truck back.
